The nursing staff will do everything in their power to provide you with the best possible care. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the nurse in charge.

If you wish to move around the hospital, please inform the nursing staff of your destination so that they can contact you if necessary (medical visit, exams, etc.).

Children in the hospital
If your child is hospitalized with us, one of his or her parents can stay overnight free of charge (excluding meals) and thus stay with him or her 24 hours a day. Please ask the nursing staff for details.

Information concerning your stay

  • Room

    In most cases we offer single or double rooms, with modern furniture, all with shower and WC. Subject to availability, and at an additional cost, you can request a single room.

    For the birth of a child, it is possible to install an extra bed so that the family can be together in a room. Depending on size, costs range between 100.- and 150.- CHF per night, not including visitor meals.

    We are at your disposal for the consideration of all your requests wherever possible.

  • Multimedia

    Internet

    Each telephone is equipped with analogue Internet access. You can thus send and receive emails from your own personal computer, and connect to the Internet. The costs for this will be charged to your telephone bill.

    Telephone

    Your friends and family will be able to reach you directly in your room by telephone. Please give them the following telephone number: +41 27 604 + your own internal telephone number. You will be provided with the required telephone card at reception.
    Mobile telephones can cause medical equipment to malfunction. We would therefore be grateful if you would turn them off in the intensive care units.

    Television and radio

    You can rent a television at the rate of Fr. 5 per day. Please ask the healthcare staff about this. A radio is provided to each patient in the room. You can listen to it through the loudspeakers or through your (personal) headphones.

  • Practical services

    Mail

    Any mail addressed to you will be brought to you in your room every day. If you wish to send mail, there is a post box at your disposal in the entrance foyer. You can buy stamps from reception. The healthcare staff will help you post your mail if you are not able to leave your room.
    You can read the daily papers in the Pometta restaurant and in the cafeteria.

    Hairdresser


    If you wish to be seen by a hairdresser during your stay, please contact reception or the healthcare staff, who will be happy to arrange an appointment for you.

    Library

    Our borrowing library has a wide range of books. The healthcare staff will be happy to provide you with information on this service.

    Gardens

    The hospital is surrounded by superb, sunny flower gardens which are a wonder to explore. You can have a walk in the fresh air with your visitors, or relax on a bench. The entrance to the gardens is situated in front of the main entrance, to the left, or through Pometta restaurant in the basement.

  • Cafeteria – Meals

    Cafeteria and newsagents

    The main meeting point is located on the same level as the main entrance. This place allows you to enjoy a good cup of coffee while you wait, or to buy something to read from the newsagents. The newsagents offers you a wide selection of newspapers, magazines, postcards and greeting cards, chocolate, biscuits, small gifts and, upon request, common household goods.

    • Every day from 09:00 to 11:30 and from 13:30 to 19:30.

    Meals


    Our chefs will prepare your meals with care, in accordance with the latest standards of modern food physiology. A varied à la carte menu supplements the weekly menu which can be found in each room.
    If you are not following any kind of diet, you can choose between the various menus and the à la carte options. The healthcare assistant will take your order each day and will advise you in choosing your dishes. If your health allows, you may of course have your meal in the Pometta restaurant with your visitors. Please ask the healthcare staff for more information.
    Our culinary offer includes a wide range of daily pastries, sandwiches, small snacks, a varied salad buffet, three economical lunch menus and a wide selection of hot and cold drinks.
    A qualified dietician is available to patients who want to or must follow a particular diet. If you wish to take advantage of this service, please inform the healthcare staff. They will arrange a consultation for you.

  • Spiritual life

    For many people, life in hospital is not easy. Suffering, illness, pain, agony and death often raise fundamental questions. The chaplaincy team invites you to take a journey with us. We do this in an open and ecumenical spirit, respecting your vision of the world and your religious convictions. 
    and your religious convictions. If you would like an interview, communion, the anointing of the sick or the blessing of the sick, please contact the nursing staff or the chaplaincy team directly. We are also happy to accommodate requests from other religious communities.

    On request, the chaplaincy team will bring communion to the patient's room once a week. On Sundays and public holidays, we hold religious services in the hospital chapels, to which you are cordially invited. If you would like to be accompanied at a religious service, the nursing staff will be happy to help you. The chapel is always available for silent reflection and prayer.
