Cardiovascular Outpatient Rehabilitation Centre

A Centre at the Heart of Your Existence

The cardiovascular rehabilitation outpatient centre offers a rehabilitation programme which fulfils the quality requirements defined by the Swiss Working Group for Cardiovascular Rehabilitation (‘groupe suisse de travail pour la réadaptation cardiovasculaire’, G.S.R.C.). It opened on 20 April 2009, as a result of the united efforts of the Cardiology Department of the CHVR and of the Clinique Romande de Réadaptation (CRR) to restructure the existing cardiovascular rehabilitation outpatient programme.

Who is this programme aimed at?

Any individual may follow a cardiovascular rehabilitation programme in our centre if one of the following criteria applies:

  • Coronary disease with or without cardiac arrest
  • Coronary bypass or coronary dilatation
  • Interventions involving the heart or the major blood vessels (cardiac valves, aortic prostheses)
  • Diseases of the myocardium with cardiac insufficiency
  • Cerebrovascular accident without significant consequences
  • Setting up an implantable defibrillator
  • Peripheral circulatory disturbances
  • Multiple cardiovascular risk factors (diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hypercholesterolaemia, insufficient physical activity, smoking, stress, obesity) requiring cardiovascular prevention measures
